The Islanders’ top line is busting out, a Blue Jacket on a streak, improved goaltending in Vancouver, Fantasy tips and more in Scott Cullen’s Statistically Speaking. Ultra Boost 19 Sale Canada . HEROES Kyle Okposo – Scored four goals in Friday’s 6-3 win over Pittsburgh then added a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 6-4 loss at Montreal. In the past 13 games, he has 16 points (7 G, 9 A). Since the start of last season, Okposo has 112 points in 116 games, his 0.97 points per game ranks 13th in the league. Linemates Josh Bailey and John Tavares both accumulated three assists against the Penguins, with Bailey adding two more against Montreal and Tavares putting up a goal and an assist against the Habs. Bailey has seven points (1 G, 6 A) in his past five games, while Tavares has 17 points (8 G, 9 A) in the past 13 games. Ryan Johansen – The Blue Jackets centre pushed his point streak to 13 games with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win at Boston Saturday. Johansen has 16 points (8 G, 8 A) during the streak. Ryan Miller – Had a 28-save shutout in a 3-0 win at Carolina Friday, his second consecutive shutout, and has a .955 save percentage in his past nine games. ZEROES Christian Ehrhoff – The Penguins’ blueliner started 100% of his shifts in the offensive zone against the Islanders Friday, and was on for three even-strength goals against, while posting subpar (13 shot attempts for, 26 against, 33.3%) possession stats. A rough weekend for goalies: Carter Hutton – With Pekka Rinne out, Hutton stepped in and surrendered three goals on four shots against Detroit Saturday, getting pulled after 12:32. Cam Ward - Pulled after allowing three goals on 13 shots for Carolina against Vancouver Friday. Jaroslav Halak – Headed to the All-Star game, the Islanders’ tender surrendered six goals on 33 shots against Montreal Saturday. Marc-Andre Fleury – Another one headed to the All-Star game, Fleury allowed four goals on 17 shots against the Rangers Sunday before getting pulled. Justin Peters – Washington’s backup goaltender hasn’t played much, but has struggled all season. After allowing five goals on 26 shots at Dallas Saturday, leaving him with an .864 save percentage in eight games this season. Jhonas Enroth – Buffalo’s overworked goaltender surrendered six goals on 26 shots against Detroit Sunday, turning a 3-0 lead into a 6-4 loss. In his past three starts, Enroth has stopped 76 of 94 shots (.809 SV%) Petr Mrazek – Getting the bulk of the starts for Detroit while Jimmy Howard is hurt, Mrazek was pulled after allowing three goals on seven shots against Buffalo. LINEUP NEED TO KNOW Jake Gardiner – The Toronto blueliner played 17:03 against St. Louis Saturday. In six games under the new head coach, Gardiner has played under 18 minutes four times. Trevor Daley – Running neck-and-neck with Alex Goligoski for the top average ice time on the Dallas Stars, Daley missed both Saturday and Sunday games due to an undisclosed injury. Rookie Jyrki Jokipakka stepped into the Stars lineup, contributing a pair of assists against Washington Saturday. Mark Arcobello – The former Edmonton Oiler, who played four games for Nashville before getting waived, played his first two games for the Penguins, seeing a modest 9:44 of ice time per game. Philip Samuelsson – Acquired from Pittsburgh in exchange for Rob Klinkhammer earlier in the season, the 2009 second-round pick played his first three games for Arizona. He had seven points (1 G, 6 A) and was plus-3 in 38 AHL games before getting called up. Sam Gagner – Played a season-low 11:41 for the Coyotes Saturday and while his ice time bounced back Sunday (18:56 at Winnipeg), he has no goals and one assist in the past seven games. Martin Erat – The Coyotes winger was a healthy scratch for Sunday’s loss at Winnipeg. He has two assists, and three shots on goal, in his past eight games. He also happens to have the best possession numbers on the team. Tom McCollum – Was pressed into action when the Red Wings pulled Petr Mrazek during Sunday’s win over Buffalo. It was McCollum’s first NHL action since a 15-minute appearance in 2010-2011. Mathieu Perreault – The Jets sniper was injured by a cross-check from Blackhawks LW Daniel Carcillo, so Evander Kane took Perreault’s spot on a line with Mark Scheifele and Michael Frolik. Jason Zucker – For all the high-priced talent in Minnesota, Zucker (who makes just over $900,000) is tied for the team lead with 16 goals. Melker Karlsson – The Sharks rookie winger, who doesn’t come with any kind of outstanding scorer’s pedigree, has six goals in the past eight games and, playing with Logan Couture and Joe Pavelski, he’s getting a good opportunity. Mikael Backlund – In five games since returning from injury, the Flames’ centre has put up seven points (4 G, 3 A) and may have found a nice fit with Johnny Gaudreau and Jiri Hudler on his wings. Now, he might be their hottest pitcher. Lobstein earned up his first major league victory Sunday night, allowing one run in 5 2-3 innings in the Tigers 6-1 win over the San Francisco Giants. NMD Human Race Canada . Nowitzki scored 28 points, Harris had a season-high 14 for the second straight game and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Detroit Pistons 116-106 Sunday night. http://www.nmdshoescanada.com/prophere-cheap-canada.html . Lauzon rushed for 42 yards on 15 carries for the Vert et Or (2-3) while quarterback Jeremi Roch completed 19-of-32 passes for 251 yards and one interception. Alexandre Aube scored the other touchdown for Sherbrooke.GREENSBORO, N.C. - Camilo Villegas got away from golf for a little while, and his game came back. A recharged Villegas shot a 7-under 63 on Thursday to take a one-stroke lead after the first round at the Wyndham Championship. North Carolina natives Webb Simpson and William McGirt shot 64, and Scott Langley, Heath Slocum, Paul Casey, Andrew Loupe and Martin Laird were another stroke back in the final event before the PGA Tours playoffs. Villegas hasnt won since 2010 and has only two top-10 finishes in the last three years. After pulling out of the Canadian Open after one round last month, he spent the past week back in his native Colombia for "a little recharge" — leaving his clubs behind in Florida. "I just thought it was appropriate to hop on a plane and see mom and dad and recharge a little bit," Villegas said. It helped him make a late charge up the Sedgefield Country Club leaderboard. Starting on the back nine, he had three early birdies before getting even hotter late: He followed his birdie on the fourth with an eagle on the par-5 fifth, placing his second shot about 3 feet from the stick. He claimed sole possession of the lead two holes later with a birdie, sinking a 15-foot putt on the par-3 seventh. But early leads have been something of a curse at Sedgefield. Since the tournament returned to the course in 2008, the only first-round leader to win was Arjun Atwal in 2010. And first-round leads havent exactly been kind to Villegas lately, either. He held two of them last year, but missed the cut at the Honda Classic and finished 71st at the John Deere. "Ive also played great rounds and played some good ones after that," Villegas said. "Its a matter of just coming out here and playing good golf tomorrow. There shouldnt be any relationship between Thursday-Friday and Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday." Simpson, the 2011 winner, hopes to make an impression on U.S. Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson. His three captains picks are due next month. Simpson finished 15th on the Ryder Cup points list. "Its on my mind a little bit, but there are so many things I cant control with what the captain does and how other guys play," Simpson said. "I think if I have a good week this week — not just todday but this week — itll show that I really want to make the team. Stan Smith Shoes Canada Sale. I want to make a good argument for myself to be a pick." Simpson has always been a local favourite and top draw at this tournament — even before he claimed his first PGA Tour victory here three years ago, and well before he won the 2012 U.S. Open at the Olympic Club. The Raleigh native played college golf at nearby Wake Forest and lives in Charlotte. Playing in the marquee grouping of the day along with fellow Wyndham winners Brandt Snedeker (2007) and Patrick Reed (2013), Simpson birdied his first four holes. He was briefly at 7 -under before he wound up with a bogey on the 17th when his 3-foot par putt hit a spike mark. "Normally, the ball will kind of pop right over, but it got it pretty good and went right," Simpson said. "Late in the day, it happens to everybody." McGirt also played well after spending some time away from the game. After his tie for 25th at the Canadian Open, the fourth-year pro took a break to paint his garage and — as the father of a 17-month-old son — joked that there were a "lot of dirty diapers I got to change." He also made a visit to his coach in Charleston, South Carolina, but otherwise kept his clubs in their travel case. He said he typically doesnt play at all when hes home. "I mean, I love to play golf," McGirt quipped. "But not that much." The 35-year-old McGirt who grew up near the North Carolina-South Carolina line in Fairmont closed with five birdies on the back nine to make up for two early bogeys. He wrapped up by sinking a 25-foot birdie putt on the 18th. Laird needs a strong week here to climb into the playoffs beginning next week in New Jersey. He arrived at No. 136 on the points list and the top 125 qualify for The Barclays. Its a familiar position for him: As a rookie in 2008, he came to the Wyndham outside the playoff picture before his fourth-place tie pushed him into The Barclays. "Since then, Ive always liked this golf course," Laird said. "Its just a position course. Get in the fairway and kind of pick and choose your spots where you can go at flags. Thats the kind of golf I like." ___ Follow Joedy McCreary on Twitter at http://twitter.com/joedyap ' ' '
